About the department

The PSQIT Development Product Portfolio is a recent addition to PSQIT at Novo Nordisk, designed to consolidate all portfolio management units from 'CMC Development &
Scaling' and 'Product Supply' (PS). The goal of this new area is to enhance Novo Nordisk's ability to prioritize and develop our pipeline and marketed products with a strong focus on product potential, manufacturability, scalability, and future capacity requirements, closely collaborating with the Global Supply Chain.

The new setup will serve as the primary gateway to PSQIT, offering a comprehensive overview and ensuring that commercial scalability and manufacturability are central right from the early stages of development.

The role
As a part of the Development Product Portfolio leadership team, the appointed Corporate Vice President for the Diabetes &
Obesity Project Area will be responsible for maximizing the project portfolio's value within their domain. The new leader will:

  • Establish the direction, strategy, and tactics for the newly formed team aligned with Research &
    Early Development (RE&
    D) and Development strategies.
  • Build and lead a highly effective Project Organization (currently with over 20 project leaders) to achieve project targets and establish a reputation as the primary contact for Diabetes &
    Obesity Projects in Product Supply across the organization.
  • Steer, supervise, and actively engage in planning and implementing portfolio and project strategies from pipeline to in-market for Diabetes &
    Obesity, ensuring alignment with project, portfolio, and business level priorities.
  • Ensure proper coordination and alignment with all internal and external stakeholders globally, including Project Committees and Boards, Regulatory, Compliance and Quality teams, as well as other EVP areas and functions throughout the drug development value chain and LCM processes.
  • Challenge and optimize budget and resource utilization while upholding a focus on quality and the triple bottom line.
  • Contribute to evaluating and conducting due diligence on business development opportunities.
  • Advocate for the Novo Nordisk Way, ensuring that all activities from project governance to leadership comply fully with regulations.

The position is located in Denmark with the option for a hybrid work arrangement involving 75% on-site presence (3-4 days per week).

Requirements
You are an experienced business leader with a background in senior management roles within a similarly intricate, global pharmaceutical organization. Recognized as a transformative and strategic enterprise leader, you bring:

  • Over 10 years of successful experience in line- or project management within R&
    D, Manufacturing Development, or Product Supply.
  • A proven track record of leading large, complex project organizations in drug production/manufacturing or development contexts.
  • Experience driving significant change initiatives in a similar role, particularly focusing on prioritization and optimization.
  • A solid understanding of and diverse experience across the pharmaceutical value chain, with knowledge of end-to-end drug development and LCM processes, preferably gained through direct involvement in product development lifecycle project teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of quality standards in the pharmaceutical industry and global regulatory requirements.
  • An international perspective and experience, either through international assignments or substantial work with major markets and partners.
  • PhD/MSc in a medical or related scientific field.
