Position Description

Our unit Electrical Safety located in Esbjerg is looking for candidates with min. engineering degree to strengthen our group of engineers and specialists, performing various assurance, verification, and advisory tasks for a broad range of customers throughout the entire value chain on- and offshore Oil &
Gas, renewable energy, P2X, and energy transmission. The candidate should be able to document experience or knowledge within the areas below:



  1. Project management skills and desired previous experience (Prince2, IPMA, PMP or equal)
  2. Knowledge of EU directives, EN/IEC standards, and other relevant certifications in the energy industry
  3. Experience in Electrical design for LV or MV networks
  4. Development, processing, and review of technical documentation


As a trusted and competent project partner, we support our clients through the whole project lifetime from feasibility studies over the design, fabrication, operation of plants to the decommissioning. Our section Electrical Safety works closely together with other disciplines and experts within the DNV global network of electrical experts. The wide range of tasks and customers offers several interdisciplinary activities, technical challenges, and good development opportunities for an engineer that likes to work in a wide range of technical fields and who already has a profound knowledge of one or more of our service areas.


Position Qualifications

We want to strengthen our team with an engineer/specialist being able to work in all of the above service areas with the possibility of specialization for dedicated subjects and/or areas. The job covers in-depth teamwork and:



  1. Technical support/sparring with clients for correct and suitable solutions within electrical safety
  2. Awareness of cyber security risks
  3. Travel locally and internationally and occasional offshore trips must be expected
  4. Participate in DNV Academy as a facilitator, Workshops, and Audits (SECE/ASTF)


Conduct detailed technical review and independent assessment of electrical related construction documentation including:



  • Plans and specifications
  • Design calculations and studies
  • Test documentation
  • QA/QC documentation
  • Inspection and Test Plans
  • Electrical related drawings and calculations/studies
  • Electrical commissioning plan


Conduct construction monitoring inspections of projects to verify compliance with:



  • Construction plans, design, and specifications
  • Applicable code requirements and standards and construction workmanship


We are looking for a motivated, solution- and customer-oriented engineer who can assist and guide our clients in the existing Oil &
Gas sector as well as clients in the renewable Energy sector. The candidate is expected to possess the following skills:



  • Completed studies in the field electrical engineering (Bachelor or Master level) or comparable disciplines and continuous high willingness to learn
  • Fluent English, incl. technical terms
  • Fluent Danish language skills will be an advantage
  • Knowledge and coherent technical understanding of both power plant technology and electrical systems for power distribution and transmission
  • Strong ability to advise, network and a clear customer focus
  • High degree of flexibility, creativity, and initiative
  • Awareness of quality, health, safety, and environment (QHSE)
  • Self-motivating and driven with the ability to meet deadlines and set and adjust priorities
  • Keep a positive and proactive attitude, with a solution-oriented mindset
  • Solid Project Management incl. open and honest communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience within hydrogen/PtX and/or Oil &
    Gas will be preferable
