Position overview:

As Engineering Manager, you are responsible for leading, motivating and developing a team of highly skilled employees to ensure maximum efficiency from all equipment and services by means of preventative maintenance and continuous improvements and modifications to equipment and methods.

Reporting to the Plant Manager you will be an key member of the Management Team at Ball Fredericia. You will work especially close with the Plant Manager, Production Manager and Quality Manager as well as Shift Managers leading our 5 crews operating in shifts 24/7/365 in our high-speed 3-line aluminium can production facility established in 2008.

You will lead the Engineering/Workshop team consisting of a Mechanical Supervisor, a Sustainability Manager, a Plant Maintenance Coordinator, 10 Maintainers and 10 electricians of which 5 are on crew and 2 are apprentices.

Key responsibilities include:

- Lead, motivate and develop your employees as a team while participating actively in a safe and healthy working environment.

- Ensuring maximum efficiency from all equipment and services by means of preventative maintenance

- Acting on own authority and initiative on day to day maintenance and repairs

- Driving continuous improvements to all equipment (mechanical and electrical), processes and buildings in a structured manner using tools such as Root Cause Analysis

- Execution of all plant engineering projects from start to completion.

- Reviewing manufacturing performance.

- Keeping up-to-date with any new equipment or processes that are relative to our particular industry.

- Controlling and optimising all engineering costs within agreed budget. Compiling budgets for capital projects and engineering expense.

- Ensure that training &
development for engineering staff are put into effect and continuously reviewed, revised and maintained.

- Compliance with all statutory regulations.

- Close corporation with the Central Engineering team and external stakeholders e.G. suppliers, customers and auditors

What are we looking for?

- The ideal candidate has +5 years of experience from a similar position within a large manufacturing facility

- Engineering background with a relevant degree and qualifications

- Ability to engage in a production environment on a high technical level

- Experience in leading high-performing teams

- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles

- Fluent in Danish and English both verbal and in writing #LI-Onsite #LI-MV2

The place of work is Vejlbyvej 29, 7000 Fredericia. Residence max. 1 hour drive from the company.
