This is your chance to take a central place in driving the engineering solutions for the green energy transition as we are looking for a Lead Structural Engineer for Main Bearings. You will be part of our Bearing team within the Nacelle Technology department where new products and technologies are designed, developed, matured, and tested. Your base will be in Brande, Denmark.

How to contribute to our vision
As a Lead Structural Engineer for Main Bearings, you will be responsible for the analysis tool chain for main bearings across the SGRE wind turbine portfolio. You will be taking the lead in ensuring that our analysis methodologies are able to capture the design drivers of our main bearings. You therefore need to have deep insight in both FE modelling and bearing technology in general. Furthermore, you will need to be agile and strong in driving tasks with multiple stakeholders and be able to take lead on technical decisions and troubleshooting in close collaboration with other specialists.

Key Tasks:

  • Ensuring that the tools and methodologies for main bearing analysis in SGRE are state-of-the-art and tailored to the application and fleet experience.
  • Coordinate the tasks of the main bearing analysis specialists in the team.
  • Ownership of the bearing analysis specifications and requirements towards suppliers.
  • Ensure collaboration and close dialogue with the design teams of suppliers and solution providers.
  • Drive model validation tasks.

Other requirements:

  • Excellent English skills, both in speech and writing
  • You are comfortable using a variety of IT systems to fulfill different aspects of your scope, e.G., design system, project documentation, cost management.
  • Office location in Brande – Denmark

What you need to make a difference

  • Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change.
  • A technical background within mechanical engineering or similar (MSc/BSc).
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience, preferably from the wind sector.
  • Knowledge of a broad range of bearing technologies.
  • Strong skills in FE modeling, preferably in Ansys.
  • Knowledge of model validation methodologies.
  • A methodical and structured approach.
  • The ability to work in a team environment that demands synergy and cooperation. Strong coordination and interpersonal skills are a must.
  • Motivation by making things happen and taking pride in keeping people informed and updated on progress.
  • Proficient English, both written and spoken, is a must.
