The role

As a Marine Project Engineer you will participate in the development of retrofit solutions for the steering systems of large deep-sea ships, including cruise ships, container ships and mega yachts.

You will join an experienced team of engineers in a company with a long history in the industry.

Your job will be to design, document and implement retrofit systems, arrange the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), participate in the installation and commissioning, Harbor Acceptance Test (HAT) together with shipowner, and finally conduct the Sea-trial Acceptance Test (SAT).

We expect you to act as project coordinator for all the involved stakeholders, including the customer, the notified body (the class), and internal EMRI departments such as sales, production, and test.

In addition to the retrofit tasks, you will also assist with technical support, remote support, and service for our customers with EMRI products.

World-wide traveling is a natural part of the job. You should expect and embrace 50-60 days of travel per year, where each job probably is 3-6 days.

About you

We expect that you hold a B.Sc. within automation, electronics or electrical systems and have at least three years of experience within a technical field.

In addition, we also expect:

  • Experience with PLC solutions and programming.
  • Experience with Autocad.
  • That you are adaptable, a self-starter and have a natural drive to find a solution.
  • That you can work under pressure at remote sites.
  • That you have a “sales mind” and always look for additional business opportunities.
  • Spoken and written English.

It is a plus, if you:

  • Have experience from the marine business – potentially as a marine service engineer.
  • Understand marine steering systems.
  • Have worked with the OMRON PLC product line.
  • Are used to documenting your work using SEE Electrical.
  • Are a global traveller.
