The Position

In this role, you will:



  1. Combine proficiency in cutting-edge modeling and simulation within pharmacology in critical medical areas
  2. Require efficient collaboration and communication with subject matter experts
  3. Be part of a growing team driving the implementation of PK/PD and engaging with scientists across the Research &
    Early Development organization
  4. Contribute to a variety of projects and therapeutic areas


Main responsibilities include:



  • Setting the strategic direction for PK/PD within projects in alignment with key stakeholders
  • PK/PD and Quantitative Systems Pharmacology (QSP) modeling on research compounds
  • Simulation of human PK/PD based on animal and in vitro data
  • Extract literature/competitor data on similar compounds to include in modeling
  • Maintain state-of-the-art competences within PK/PD and be an innovator
  • Create impact on the R&
    D value chain
  • Anticipate internal and/or external business challenges and recommend improvements
  • Independently solve unique and complex problems with a broad impact on the business


This position will require you to work 3-4 days from our office based in Måløv, Denmark.


Qualifications

You hold a Ph.D. in physics, math, engineering, or related disciplines and ideally have 2+ years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry in pharmacometrics or mathematical modeling and simulation.


To succeed in the role, you have:



  • Excellent understanding of pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics (PK/PD) theory and modeling
  • Outstanding ability to identify challenges and develop strategies
  • Experience in modeling biological processes using mechanistic and/or empirical models
  • Expertise and programming skills with PK/PD modeling software and data analysis tools
  • Experience managing external service providers
  • Due diligence evaluation within PK/PD
  • Disease area expertise, preferably within diabetes and/or obesity

The Discovery PK/PD and Quantitative Systems Pharmacology (QSP) department supports a wide range of diseases and develops models to understand resistance mechanisms, support drug discovery, optimize dose &
schedule selection, andmore.
