Tenure Track Assistant Professor in CFD and Aeroelasticity

Do you wish to take part in the green transition by developing the numerical tools for the next generation of wind turbine rotors? Then this may be the opportunity for you to join one of the world’s strongest research groups in advanced numerical design of wind turbine rotors.

DTU Wind and Energy Systems, section for Aero- and Fluid-Dynamics (AFD), invites applicants for a position as Assistant Professor in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and wind turbine design, focusing on computational aeroelasticity with the objective of improving the design of large wind turbine rotors. The position is a full-time tenure track position.

Responsibilities and qualifications

In this position you will conduct research and teaching in the fields of aerodynamics, CFD and aeroelasticity. You will work in a team of researchers with many years of experience in the development of advanced CFD codes for wind turbine design. Your overall focus will be to help develop the department’s competences within computational aeroelasticity with focus on fluid-structure interaction and wing design for the design of next generation wind turbine rotors. The position demands excellent communication skills, open-minded team qualifications, and the ability to work in multidisciplinary and multinational teams. Your primary tasks will be to:

  • Carry out research in fluid-structure interaction (FSI) and aeroelastic stability
  • Take active part in the further development of CFD software
  • Teach courses on aerodynamics and aeroelasticity
  • Teach and supervise BSc and MSc student projects, and be co-supervisor for PhD students

Besides this, you are expected to:

  • Attract external excellence and strategic funding in your research area
