Head of Legal Compliance for Egmont Corporate Legal &
Sustainability

Egmont, a leading media group in the Nordics, is looking for a Head of Legal Compliance for our Corporate Legal &
Sustainability department based in Copenhagen. We are looking for a colleague with strong legal compliance expertise, solid business understanding and an analytical and proactive approach, who will thrive on providing legal compliance advice and service to Egmont’s dynamic and creative divisions

As Head of Legal Compliance based in Copenhagen you will be heading the Legal Compliance team which is part of Egmont Corporate Legal &
Sustainability. You will report to the General Counsel &
VP Corporate Legal &
Sustainability. Your key tasks will be to:

- Head the small Legal Compliance Team which is responsible for social compliance audits, Egmont’s Business Ethics Policy, Code of Conduct and ad hoc compliance issues.
- Maintain and develop relevant compliance policies and be responsible for training and implementation.
- Be a trusted legal sparring partner and provide appropriate legal advice to the business, primarily within key legal compliance areas such as competition law, marketing law, sanctions and anti-corruption, and be ready to support on requirements under special legal areas such as the AI Act and Deforestation Regulation.
- Ensure general legal compliance and help the business reduce risks, while also seeking to ensure that business needs are met in a practical way.
- Manage the relationship with Egmont’s key licensors and internal stakeholders with respect to Code of Conduct and social compliance issues.
- Guide the business with respect to supplier due diligence and working with material suppliers, and assess impact from CSDDD requirements.
- Contribute to Egmont’s external reporting on relevant areas within UN Global Compact and CSRD.
- Take responsibility for maintaining and developing relevant legal templates for the department and for the business.

Strong legal and analytical skills, solid business understanding and a passionate leader
We expect our new Head of Legal Compliance to have these skills:
- Master of Laws and (preferably) qualified and licensed lawyer, with a law education from one of the Nordic countries (or a cand.Merc.Jur or equivalent education).
- A minimum of 5 years relevant experience from a law firm and/or a corporate function, with solid experience in business ethics, code of conduct, engaging with suppliers and preferably also substance legal areas such as competition law and anti-corruption.
- Experience with and/or interest in UN Global Compact and ESG/CSRD requirements.
- Solid business understanding and international experience.
- Proactive and commercial approach with focus on cooperation.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills as well as customer and stakeholder management.
- Leader experience and a leadership style that is passionate, coaching and delegating while still supporting the development of the team.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Fluency in English is a must (drafting and negotiation level), as well as fluency in at least one of the Scandinavian languages.
