Department manager to head our Utility department at Novo Nordisk Engineering

About the role
We are looking for a department manager to head our Utility department with employees working both in Virum and Kalundborg. You’ll have both people and technical development responsibility for your 39 committed engineers working on utility systems for some of the world’s largest and most advanced pharmaceutical facilities.

In these facilities our Utility department is responsible for all utility systems design, including clean utility, black utility, clean in place (CIP), and process waste. We are involved in all project phases (design, construction, test, installation, commissioning, and qualification).

How you might spend your days
As our department manager in Process Utility, you’ll be:

  • Lead, manage and develop your team of employees across Virum and Kalundborg
  • Act as mentor and coach for the team members.
  • Perform resource allocation and management in relation to project demand.
  • Support the continued excellent collaboration with our colleagues in Bangalore, India.
  • Work in close partnership with the rest of the management team and senior specialists.
  • Foresight, develop and grow the team to be able to support our project pipeline.
  • Direct strategic initiatives in the department that are linked to the overall NNE strategy.

The miles you’ve walked
In all positions there are some things that are needed, and others a bonus. We believe these qualifications are needed for you to do well in this role:

  • You have a degree in mechanical or chemical engineering or any other related engineering disciplines.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in people management e.G., as team leader, department manager or project manager
  • You speak and write English fluently and willing to learn Danish.
